Price Cutter: A Chevy Chase Four Square and a Burleith Townhouse
In this week’s Price Cutter, we look at price reductions on two desirable, renovated properties we’ve previously featured in Burleith and Chevy Chase DC.
A Federal Townhouse in Burleith Drops by $39K
We featured this townhouse in compact Burleith when it hit the market in January. The house is across the street from the Corcoran College of Art and Design with a big, gleaming kitchen — though it’s on the home’s lower level — as well as a pool out back. Buyers may be balking at the home’s small bedrooms, though its shared living space looks plentiful. The home did briefly go under contract in April before it was relisted. As we noted when we featured the house in Best New Listings, this is a rare sub-$1 million three-bedroom home in the 20007 zip code, and with a $39,000 price drop, it just became even rarer.

A Renovated Six-Bedroom Four Square Gets a $50K Cut
This four square in Chevy Chase DC hit the market in early June but hasn’t snagged a buyer yet despite its magazine-worthy finishes and unique features. A recent $50,000 price reduction may help it find one. The property has an updated kitchen, plenty of charming rooms and reading nooks, plus an in-law suite in the basement. There’s also ample outdoor space in the form of a large front porch and a big back deck. The interior’s design is unique and contemporary, though classic details like moulding, beams and built-ins have been preserved. We especially like the built-in bookshelf-turned-headboard in the master bedroom, which also has a cozy sitting room.
