A new boutique project is on the boards not far from the Benning Road Metro station.
Freelance Development has pitched an 8-unit project for the vacant lot at 119 53rd Street NE (map). The developer has filed for relief with DC's Board of Zoning Adjustment from the lot occupancy, side yard and parking requirements.

The project will consist of two-bedroom, one-bath apartments measuring at 925 square feet. Several of the units will have balconies and there will be a common roof deck. The development, designed by Measure Architects, is not on the BZA calendar yet.
