Woodmont View

Bethesda blogger Robert Dyer recently published new renderings of Woodmont View, a 46-unit condo project planned near the intersection of Battery Lane and Woodmont Avenue (map).

Duball LLC and the Resmark Companies are developing the small lot of land and will break ground later this year with plans to deliver the new project in 2016. The nine-story development will consist entirely of two-bedroom homes averaging about 1,500 square feet in size.

The exterior is hideous. I mean, it's really pretty embarrassing. I hope the project's neighbors will cause an uproar.

Actually...this is a nice facade and it will fit well in this area. The brick work matched with the limestone is a plus. That will give it staying power over the years. The setback on the corner is a nice touch to keep it from being just a box. Also, there are breaks as the building rises...and the arched entrance is the icing on the cake. I'd reside there ;o)

What's hideous about it? It actually has some character, thank god.

Don't like faux-historicist buildings to begin with, but this will most likely be ve'd into oblivion anyway and become even uglier.
