New Waze to Stem Food Waste

Waze is adding another offering to its traffic-navigation app.
The company has announced a partnership with Too Good To Go (TGTG), an app that points people toward restaurants and shops that have excess food that may otherwise go to waste. The new Waze for Good initiative would show Waze users the locations of shops that have partnered with TGTG and have surplus food to offer at a discount.
TGTG pins on the Waze map would indicate places like PLNT Burger and Stumptown Coffee Roasters, some of which offer a "Surprise Bag" of food that can be reserved through the app for pickup at a third- or half-price.
The new partnership runs through September 10th, although the two apps also launched an initiative in late 2020 to map food bank locations on Waze.
