Is Anacostia's first Starbucks opening this week?
ANC 8A committee member Mark Ventura tweeted a photo on Monday of window art announcing that the new Starbucks will open its doors on Friday.

The shop is on the ground floor of Maple View Flats on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue (map), a couple of blocks down the street from another first: Busboys and Poets' first east-of-the-River location.
Although DC's stay-at-home guidelines remain in place, construction has continued to chug on citywide as an "essential" activity. In March, Starbucks went from removing some seating according to distancing recommendations to closing locations without drive-thrus. The company began reopening more than 85% of its stores earlier this month for pick-up and delivery only (along with drive-thru), under reduced hours.
