As one of DC's most anticipated restaurants looks for a key approval, new drawings offer a look inside.
In early July, Osteria Mozza, the new Georgetown eatery and market from Philadelphia restaurateur Stephen Starr and Los Angeles-based chef Nancy Silverton will go before the Old Georgetown Board (OGB) in hopes of getting the board's approval. Images provided as part of the OGB application offer the best sense yet of what the various bars and dining room space will look like at the new restaurant.
The 312-seat Italian concept will be located at the former Dean & Deluca location in the Georgetown Market building at 3270 M Street NW (map). The restaurant, designed by New York-based design firm Roman and Williams, will have a variety of different components including a mozzarella bar, a prosciutto bar and a large oval cocktail bar, as well as a small Italian marketplace.
The new eatery will serve thin-crust pizzas, homemade pastas, roasted meats, fish, and vegetables, in addition to fare from the aforementioned mozzarella and prosciutto bars. An opening date for the new eatery has yet to be announced.
