Gone in 24 Hours: Max Scherzer's $15 Million McLean Home Finds a Buyer in a Day

If you are a former star athlete in DC, it appears to be a good time to put your house on the market.
Just a week after John Wall's Potomac mansion went under contract in 48 hours, former Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer's home in McLean found a buyer in just a day.
The $15 million home high above the Potomac River hit the market on Friday with Wetherly Barker Hemeon and Karen Barker of TTR Sotheby's International Realty. By Saturday, it was under contract.

The five-bedroom home has 250 feet of waterfront frontage and 180-degree views of the Potomac River. Scherzer purchased an older home at the site in 2015 and then spent two years building a new house.
Glass walls along the back of the home frame views of the river in the living room, dining room and kitchen. This level includes standout features like a 7-foot basalt fireplace in the two-story living room and a 14-foot marble island in the kitchen.

The upper level of the home consists of the master suite, with a coffee/wine bar and a private balcony, three more bedrooms and a home office. A two-tiered roof terrace has multiple seating areas, a mini-bar area and some of the most expansive river views in the home.

The lower level includes a family room and home gym, and leads out to the pool deck, infinity pool and outdoor entertaining area. Stairs then lead down to the lawn and river's edge.
