Former Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh’s house in Spring Valley hit the market late last week for $2.6 million. Bayh, a moderate Democrat, left the Senate in 2010 and went on to become a Fox News contributor and an adviser.
The colonial-style home near Sibley Hospital is unsurprisingly designed for formal entertaining, with large, decorated living spaces. The house at 5170 Tilden Street NW (map) spans 5,000 square feet.
Bayh has owned the home for two decades, according to the listing. Since it’s so set up for entertaining, the most casual space is in the basement, where a large TV sits adjacent to a small bust of Abraham Lincoln.
Here are more details and photos of the property:
- Full Listing: 5170 Tilden Street NW (map)
- List Price: $2.595 million
- Bedrooms: Six
- Bathrooms: 5.5
- Year Built: 1939
- Listing Agent: James Kaull, Washington Fine Properties
