Plans to redevelop the former Dancing Crab site in Tenleytown will be delayed further.
The development team has filed a two-year extension for the approved planned-unit development (PUD) that is expected to deliver a seven-story project with 41 apartments at 4615 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map). The extension would make the PUD approval valid through March 2027.

"The Applicant has been unable to secure all required governmental agency approvals because of delays that are beyond the applicant’s reasonable control," the application stated. "Despite its inability to obtain all required governmental agency approvals, the Applicant remains fully committed to moving forward with the construction of the Project and remains fully committed to complying with all conditions and obligations imposed as part of the PUD approval."
If approved, this will be the second extension for the Bonstra|Haresign-designed development that will likely include space for a restaurant on the ground floor.
