Towards the end of the day on Monday, JDLand reported new details about the 430-unit apartment project that William C. Smith and Co. is building at 880 New Jersey Avenue SE (map).
While renderings haven’t been released yet, the prolific blogger was shown an early design by architecture firm Esocoff and Associates that showed “a brick/masonry structure with a lot of ‘articulation’ (i.e., not a big flat box).”

Construction is expected to begin in spring 2012, and JDLand writes that amenities could include an indoor pool, a rooftop pool, a fitness center with possibly spinning and yoga rooms, and three levels of underground parking. There will be no Whole Foods, though, as originally planned.
As usual, JDLand has many more details about the project, including what needs to happen before construction can begin.
