Deal of the Week: Fit for a Family in Woodridge

Deal of the Week: Fit for a Family in Woodridge: Figure 1

This installment of Deal of the Week is a family-sized home in Woodridge, a currently sparse neighborhood with a very active community.

The four-bedroom was constructed in the Arts and Crafts style in 1921 and still has a lot of its original features, like wood trim and moldings, the original doors and a rustic looking fireplace. (The kitchen and bathrooms have been updated.) Some cool extra areas include an enclosed porch off of one of the bedrooms, an office area off another, and two nooks tucked away in both upstairs bedrooms.

While there isn’t too much going on Woodridge’s retail stretch, an active group of residents have been working to change that and retailers are starting to trickle in. On the plus side, the neighborhood feels quiet and peaceful, and the home is close to the Woodridge Library and Langdon Park.

The agent tells us that they are expecting multiple offers, which at $233 per square foot should not be a surprise. More details and photos below.

what does the author mean by Woodridge is currently sparse neighborhood?

Haha! I saw Marie's comment and had to re-read the article to confirm it really said that - it does. I'm sure the people who live in Woodridge feel like the neighborhood is full enough. Between that comment and the other article about this area home sales with the completely bleak photo it makes a pretty clear statement about the lack of excitement for this area. The house however, does look very nice for the price and whoever just went under contract seems to be getting a great deal. I might have drooled a little when I saw how large the backyard is (silver lining to being sparse?).
