Our go-to guy for local real estate sales analysis Keith Gibbons recently compiled his monthly report for DC property sales in April 2009. Here are some highlights:

Courtesy of DC Home and Condo Prices
- 17 percent more homes sold in the District versus one year ago, but this change was likely because prices are now much lower, down approximately 21 percent.
- Compared to April 2008, condo sales were up 7.8 percent, dollar volume increased 16.7 percent and the average price for a condo rose 8 percent to $453K. Gibbons notes that the increase in dollar volume and average price was probably due to nine condos that sold for more than $1M.
