The record home prices set in DC last year resulted in there being more neighborhoods with seven-figure price tags in the city than ever before.
An analysis by UrbanTurf found that there were 15 neighborhoods in DC where the median home price exceeded $1 million in 2020, the highest number on record for the city.
For 2020, million-dollar mainstays Spring Valley and Berkley were at the top of the list, joined by Woodley Park where home prices rose 15%. Palisades and Burleith, which just missed the cut in 2019, joined the million-dollar club as prices skyrocketed by more than 20%.

Million-dollar home prices didn't mean things weren't competitive. The six most competitive housing markets in the city all made the list above: Colonial Village, Crestwood, AU Park, Chevy Chase, North Cleveland Park and Hawthorne. And there were only three neighborhoods where prices dropped year-over-year: Spring Valley, Georgetown and Berkley.
