Construction to Begin on Pentagon City Apartments By End of Year
The Millennium at Metropolitan Park
Developer Kettler will start construction on a new apartment building in Pentagon City by the end of this year, according to the print edition of this week’s Washington Business Journal. Three Metropolitan Park will have 411 units and sit one block from the Pentagon City Metro and across the street from Costco (map).
Three Metropolitan Park is part of a ten-building project on the site of the former Cafritz warehouses in Pentagon City, and it will be the third of three buildings that Kettler will have developed in the immediate vicinity. The other two are the existing Millennium and Gramercy, which are 94 percent and 95 percent leased, according to WBJ’s Tierney Plumb.
The Business Journal story also noted how much work Kettler has planned for the Mount Vernon Triangle area just north of Chinatown in DC. It has been widely reported that the apartment builder has teamed with Douglas Jemal’s Douglas Development on a 250+ unit project at 450 K Street, but the quote from Kettler CEO Bob Kettler below intimates that much more is on the way:
“We are working exclusively with [Jemal] on a vast majority of his sites in Mount Vernon Triangle that are zoned for residential. We have not inked anything yet, but we are working towards that. He’d like us to basically develop out his residential portfolio.”
