Best New Listings: Petworth Wardman, Carly Simon Condo and a Light-Filled Row House
In this week’s edition of Best New Listings, we look at a spacious Wardman in Petworth, a Kalorama condo in a building where Carly Simon may have lived and a light-filled row house in Mount Pleasant.

Petworth Wardman with Original Details
In case our recent rundown of Wardman-built homes piqued anyone’s interest, we found a Wardman that just hit the market in Petworth. This one is sizable, with three bedrooms, a sun room, a finished basement and an attic for storage. We particularly liked the cool breakfast nook with booth-style seating. The house also has many original details, like moldings, arched doorways, and a skylight in the bathroom you can pull open with a chain.

A Kalorama Corner Unit in a Building Where Carly Simon (May Have) Lived
This condo manages to fit several rooms into 640 square feet: a separate dining room and kitchen join a living room, bedroom and bathroom. Valley Vista, the condo building where the unit is located, went up in 1928 and overlooks Rock Creek Park and the Taft Bridge. It has allegedly had a few famous tenants, like Carly Simon and Steve Allen, over the years. The common rooms were updated in 2007, and this unit has a renovated kitchen and bathroom, as well as a small dining room with windows that look out on the trees.

Light-Filled in Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant homes rarely crack the $1 million mark, but this four-bedroom may justify going just above that price point. Completely renovated over the years, our favorite area is the light-filled family room off the kitchen that looks to have a ceiling that makes it light 24 hours a day. The listing also has a large master suite, a deck overlooking a rear garden, a lower-level in-law suite and a two-car garage.
