428 Apartments and a Whole Foods: The Plans For 965 Florida Avenue
Rendering of 965 Florida.
The mixed-use development planned for 965 Florida Avenue NW is going to be a bit bigger than originally planned.
The project, a joint venture from MRP Residential and Ellis Development, will have 428 apartments, 343 parking spots (125 for residential use) and will be anchored by a 51,000-square foot Whole Foods. When the DC Council approved the disposition of the city-owned plot last September for development, the project was only going to have 393 apartments.

The mixed-use project is one of the first developments in DC to follow the city’s new affordable housing rules whereby 30 percent of residential units in new buildings must be affordable. Along with widening the sidewalks around the site of the project, the development team will also be constructing a 4,400 square-foot park on the west side of Florida Avenue.
