With the pandemic surging around the world, Airbnb is taking steps to prevent their listings from being used for large parties on New Year's Eve.
The company announced on Thursday that there will be a two-night booking minimum on or around December 31, 2020 on entire home listings for guests that do not have a history of positive reviews with the company. This restriction will not apply to guests that have a record of positive reviews.
Guests must also attest that they will not throw parties or events on New Year's Eve and could face legal action if they do. The restrictions apply to entire-home Airbnb listings in the United States, Canada and Mexico, among other countries.
