A New Look for Dacha Beer Garden’s 14th Street Location

There is a new look for Dacha Beer Garden’s 14th Street location.
In preparation for going before the ANC 2F Community Development Committee on Wednesday night, the new plans show a revised design for the enclosed spaces and the beer garden as well as what the planned indoor playground will look like. The primary changes appear to be a long arched, glass enclosure along S Street NW, as well as a more triangular, glass facade for the cafe space.

Opposition to the new 14th Street location, currently a surface parking lot, has been strong from a group of neighbors who have raised a litany of concerns ranging from noise to rats to the lines that the beer garden would create. That opposition was shared by ANC 2F who protested the liquor license application for the new location in June.

In addition to a new design, Dacha owners Ilya Alter and Dmitri Chekaldin hired a sound-engineering firm to minimize noise at the new location.
