Financing has been secured for an 81-unit residential project in Glover Park, reported the Washington Business Journal.
The site, located at 2251 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map), is being developed by Altus Realty, Chesapeake Realty Partners and Ellisdale Construction. The team secured $39 million for the large-scale project, which will involve revamping the building currently occupied by the Washington Sports Club and Glover Park Hardware and putting up a second building on what is currently a parking lot.
The project is adjacent to the neighborhood Whole Foods, and overlooks the Naval Observatory. While this is by far the largest new project to come to Glover Park in recent memory, it joins several smaller condo projects in the neighborhood, like Lock 7’s eight-unit project — set to deliver in the spring — and The Bernard, a 17-unit project that delivered last fall.
