Affordable senior housing is in the works across the street from Skyland Town Center.
Developer MILLER has applied for a planned unit development (PUD) that would deliver 67 senior units in a five-story building at 2419 25th Street SE (map). Torti Gallas Urban is the architect.
The application also seeks a map amendment to rezone the vacant site from R-3 (permitting rowhouses) to RA-2 (permitting moderate-density apartments).

The units, which will primarily be one-bedrooms, will be affordable to households earning up to 60% of median family income for 40 years after project delivery; afterward, at least 12% of the units will remain affordable at that level.
The project will also include rooftop solar panels and five surface parking spaces, one of which will be for car-share.
