Mainly Three-Bedrooms: 28-Unit Development Pitched For Marshall Heights Off Benning Road

A new development has been pitched in Ward 7 that will be made up of a rarity in new construction: three-bedroom apartments.
Plans have been filed with DC for Hampton East 2, a new 28-unit development along Benning Road in the Marshall Heights neighborhood (map).
The new development will have units ranging from two- to four-bedrooms, but the majority of apartments will be three bedrooms, offering a larger option that is seen in most new apartment buildings.
Hampton East 2 will have Inclusionary Zoning units, and some of the apartments on the first and second levels will include balcony space; units in the penthouse will include outdoor deck space.
The new development will likely go before the Board of Zoning Adjustment in the coming weeks.
