Maybe it was the contemporary design, the massive lot size or it just could’ve been priced well below what it warranted. Any one of these things could’ve led to this rectangular three-bedroom home selling for almost a quarter-million dollars above its original asking price.
This 1981-built home at 2830 Upton Street NW in Forest Hills sits on a massive lot, and has cool eco-friendly touches, like solar panels and a rooftop garden. The main living areas are bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows that reach up to a wooden, beamed ceiling and the double-sided fireplace is a cool touch.
The home hit the market on a Friday in late November and was under contract by the following Tuesday. And it appears that there were a number of interested parties. Listed for $975,000, the home closed for $1.22 million just after Christmas.
