A 20-Unit Condo Development Proposed for Site of Capitol Hill Church

Another Capitol Hill church bites the dust.
Developer District Quarters has filed a concept application with the Historic Preservation Review Board to replace the Tried Stone Church of Christ at 417 9th Street SE (map) with a 50 foot-tall condominium building.

The project would deliver 20 residences and would also have three surface parking spaces. The site is zoned for by-right mixed-use development and the church is a non-contributing building in the Capitol Hill Historic District. ARCHITECTUREFIRM is the designer.
The development team is expected to present their plans at a meeting of the ANC 6B Planning and Zoning Committee next week.
