On Monday, Mayor Muriel Bowser joined the development team behind The Parks at Walter Reed to break ground on Canopy Row, a 141-home project from NVHomes, Urban Atlantic and Triden Development Group. The first homes are expected to go on sale in early 2027.
Located between Georgia Avenue, Fern Street NW, and Elder Street NW, the community will span three blocks and offer three home configurations: traditional three- and four-bedroom townhomes and stacked two-story units. The homes will feature full-brick façades, one- or two-car garages, EV charging options, and eco-friendly construction materials. NVHomes previously delivered Aspen Square, a 50-unit townhome development at The Parks that sold out in 2023.
Canopy Row is the latest milestone in the ongoing buildout of the 66-acre former Walter Reed Army Medical Center campus. With nearly 2,000 units delivered or under construction and retailers including Whole Foods, Starbucks, Charmery Ice Cream, Cantina Paraíso, and others already open, the master development is roughly 70% complete.
