Under Contract In Less Than a Month (Or a Week in Some Cases)

In Under Contract, UrbanTurf looks back at properties it has featured to see which were snatched up by DC’s alert buyers. The listings below are either under contract or the listing status has changed to sales pending.

Re-imagined Victorian in Bloomingdale

In late November, Lori Steenhoek helped “re-imagine“ a vacant Bloomingdale row house. The four-bedroom home had been carefully gutted by the sellers and was ready for a renovation. Among the many aspects that were re-imagined, Steenhoek visualized an open floor plan, a double-sided fireplace and a second story balcony. Now the house is likely to see its potential realized (in some way); after about a month on the market, the property went under contract last week.

  • Address: 27 Quincy Place NW (map)
  • Price: $510,000
  • Bedrooms: Four
  • Bathrooms: 3.5
  • Year Built: 1895
  • Days on the Market: 26

Recently Updated Petworth Three-Bedroom Row House

Earlier this month, a Petworth home caught UrbanTurf’s eye for our What $370,000 Buys You feature. Like many homes in the neighborhood, the three-bedroom had been at least partially updated in the past five years. There is a partially finished basement, a patio, a deep backyard and a tool shed that UrbanTurf was particularly fond of. It garnered a good amount of attention, and found a buyer after only three days on the market.

  • Address: 4107 8th Street NW (map)
  • Price: $370,000
  • Bedrooms: Three
  • Bathrooms: One
  • Year Built: 1912
  • Days on the Market: 3

Mount Pleasant Fairy Tale House

1734 Irving Street NW

UrbanTurf readers will probably recognize this house as we featured the Mount Pleasant Tudor with a fairy-tale look as This Week’s Find a couple weeks ago. The three-bedroom house had been renovated throughout and had some very appealing spaces, like a climate-controlled home office above the garage and a wall of windows looking out onto a private back patio. It was one of Redfin’s most popular listings for a two-week period within days of hitting the market, and went under contract in a week.

  • Address: 1734 Irving Street NW (map)
  • Listing Price: $739,555
  • Bedrooms: Three
  • Bathrooms: Three
  • Year Built: 1927
  • Days on the Market: 7
