Not too many homes that we have featured have gone under contract over the last week, but two popular properties were sold, including the much-talked about three-bedroom architect home near the H Street Corridor that we featured a few weeks ago.
Four-Bedroom Steal in Takoma

We selected this three-bedroom home in Takoma as last week’s Deal of the Week and it appears someone agrees with us as it went under contract in 11 days. The home actually has a large finished lower suite that could be used as a fourth bedroom, part of the reason we considered it a good deal. It also has a large living room with a fireplace, a kitchen renovated this year and a large patio and backyard. The house is just a few blocks from the Takoma Metro station on the Red Line.

An Architect’s Three-Bedroom Near the H Street Corridor

The three-bedroom row house in the H Street Corridor that received a fair amount of fanfare on UT (and subsequently got seven offers) was sold this week for $40,000 above the asking price. The home was completely rebuilt by the architect owner Amanda Clarke, and now features a wide-open main floor that sweeps from the living room into the dining area and then to a new kitchen and a back deck, giving the first level the feel of a loft. The second level has two bedrooms, each with their own full bathroom and the third floor is essentially a large master suite with a walk-in closet and a deck off of the bedroom. There is also off-street parking in the back of the property.

A New Hampshire Avenue One-Bedroom

In early March for a What X Buys You post, we featured a one-bedroom unit in a Victorian row house in Dupont Circle. That unit just sold this week for slightly more than it was listed ($399,000), which was just $4,500 more than what it was purchased for in 2007. The thing we liked most about the unit was that the living room has a nice nook with numerous windows that, as evidenced by the photo above, fits a sectional couch pretty well.
