For this edition of Under Contract, UrbanTurf revisits three recently-featured listings that all went under contract within a week.

Five Days for U Street One-Bedroom

Two blocks from the U Street Metro station, this 888 square-foot one bedroom-plus-den went under contract in five days. The layout of the unit offers options for multiple living arrangements, with the den including access to a full bath with herringbone-tiled shower stall. A set of french doors separates the den from the living area, which has a white gas fireplace with marble surround and hearth between two floor-to-ceiling built-in shelving-over-cabinet units on one wall. An open dining area sits just beyond, across the entry hall from the galley-style kitchen nook. The bedroom also has an en-suite bath, and two closets concealed behind mirrored sliding doors enhance the light streaming in from a large window on the opposite wall. The condo also comes with a garage parking space.

Five Days for a Bungalow with Accessory Building

Just off Arlington Boulevard, this bungalow sits on a corner lot and has a full-length front porch with arches on either side. The living room at the front of the house has a gas fireplace between a pair of windows and leads to the formal dining room on one side and to the carpeted family room on the other. The latter has a pitched ceiling with exposed painted ceiling beams. The bright kitchen is primarily finished in blue and white, down to the tiled flooring, while a shiplap-lined ceiling houses a skylight. The kitchen also provides access to the powder room and to a side door that leads out to a rear deck with hot tub. Upstairs, one bedroom has access to a sunroom-like bonus room with triple exposure, while another bedroom has a skylit pitched ceiling and a ladder up to a loft area. The backyard has a brick-paved patio area leading to a detached garage with an attached skylit studio. The house also has an unfinished basement and a partially-finished attic.

Six Days for a Sears Kit in Silver Spring

Going under contract in just six days, this bungalow offers an updated iteration of early American prefabricated construction. The renovated Sears-kit Craftsman sits on a corner lot in the Woodside Park neighborhood of Silver Spring, boasting a partially-covered porch that wraps two sides, abutting an L-shaped sunroom with nearly floor-to-ceiling windows and tile flooring. The house also retains its original oak floors and has stained chestnut trim throughout the main level, while the kitchen offers a contemporary contrast with modern wood cabinets and parquet-style tiled flooring. The kitchen also has access to a deep den/breakfast room with a box window big enough to sit in. The living room features leaded windows, including a pair above built-ins sandwiching a buff-colored brick fireplace. The house also has ample yard space, an elevator, and an attached garage.
