As the redevelopment of the Mazza Gallerie mall in Friendship Heights heads towards completion, a big retailer is making progress towards moving in.
The wine, beer and liquor retailer Total Wine & More has filed an application with DC's Alcohol Wine and Cannabis Administration to open a location on the lower level of the development. ANC 3E will consider the application at their meeting next week.

Tishman Speyer is in the final stages of reimagining Mazza Gallerie (map) as a 7-story, 321-unit apartment project along Wisconsin Avenue. The project is expected to deliver next year.
Designed by Danish architect 3XN, the redevelopment will have 20,000 square feet of new ground floor retail along Wisconsin Avenue with a focus on boutique stores and a mix of fast casual and full-service food offerings. In addition to Total Wine, TJ Maxx will remain on-site and anchor the mall’s 70,000-square-foot retail concourse.
H&R Retail is handling retail leasing for the development, and Willard Retail is advising on the retail component. Both declined to comment on the application.
