Typically when one purchases a house, they also have to consider long-term maintenance of the house. This Week's Find is a McLean post-and-beam home that comes with spare parts.
Located near McLean Central Park, this "Deck House" is a model from the Deck House Company, a Boston-based firm that creates prefabricated homes and offers owners the ability to get replacement parts and materials.

Completed in 2003, a sunroom-style foyer with skylights and glazed windows into adjacent rooms greets visitors. Up the stairs, the vaulted living room ceiling exemplifies the post-and-beam style and nestles a wall of windows opposite a double-sided gas fireplace accessible from the dining room.
The current owner is a chef, so the skylit kitchen has been customized to cater to cooks. The stainless steel oven has one of the largest cavities the industry offers for home use. The countertops and hood above the stove are also stainless steel, contrasting with the red lacquered cabinetry and the red, black and white striated tile backsplash.
The owner also built other features in the house: a pantry; a cabinet and shelf in the guest bedroom, made of Narra wood from the Philippines; and the conversion of a bedroom into a home gym.
The residence conveys with a Deck House informational brochure, a spare plank for the wrap-around deck and two spare planks for the roof. Listed on Monday, it found a buyer and went under contract yesterday.
