There is an unusual 12-foot-wide, three-story standalone house in North Arlington that has been turning heads since construction began in 2007. Blog DC Metrocentric visited the now-finished home, which it calls the Super Model House — tall and thin. The verdict? Thanks to big windows that let in lots of natural light, the house doesn’t feel as cramped from the inside as might be expected. Plus, the finishes are top notch. The $1.25 million price tag is hefty in this market, though, especially for such a provocative design.

“The builder is definitely banking on some cache with a price well over $1 million, but it is certainly a livable house and could accommodate people who want more than a sparse show room for modern design,” writes DC Metrocentric.

The four-bedroom, 3.5-bath house sits at 711 Barton Street North (map) near the heart of Clarendon in Arlington, so the location is good. See the full listing and DC Metrocentric’s review.
