Parking is a prevalent and contentious topic of debate around DC these days, particularly when it comes to residential projects. Well, a homeowner and vintage car collector in the Netherlands has found a way to not take any of his neighbors’ spots while showing off his fleet of Aston Martins at the same time.
Dezeen recently reported on a Dutch architecture firm that designed a new home for a couple that loves to collect older sports cars. And, to accommodate the couple’s collection in the house itself, the firm designed an open air space on the first level of the home where all the cars can be parked:
“A large void opens the ground floor up to the elements, creating a space for storing around seven or eight vintage cars.”
The home has glass walls, so anyone walking by may mistake the residence for an auto showroom. However, it would be tough for them to get in and see the cars themselves: there are no doorknobs or keyholes anywhere on the exterior, as iPhones remotely open and close all the entrances.
