Shoji-Screen Filled Arlington Three-Bedroom Anchored by Enormous Stone Fireplace

Shoji screens and stone fireplaces are two design elements that are often done poorly. Fake shoji screens used as room dividers have become ubiquitous dorm room fixtures; “stone” fireplaces that are actually carved concrete are, sadly, everywhere. This contemporary Arlington three-bedroom puts the cheap imitators to shame. An enormous, authentic stone fireplace anchors the entire house, and real shoji screens can be found throughout, used as doors and privacy screens, the latter as they do for the master bathroom.

Two-Bedroom Clarendon Condo For Those That Need Some Organization Help

Who hasn’t spent a lazy Saturday at The Container Store looking at the custom shelving systems, imagining how much time they could save if only their clothing were neatly hung and perfectly arranged? This two-bedroom unit in Clarendon’s Phoenix building offers close proximity to some pretty good restaurants, a new gourmet kitchen, a parking space, two full baths and, perhaps best of all, the promise of an easier, more organized life: The closets are equipped with elfa shelving, and you don’t even have to endure a long meeting with a “design specialist” to get them.
