A Dupont Circle home that was long known as operating as a popular party house hit the market on Wednesday.
The five-bedroom, five-bath home at 2220 Q Street NW (map) was listed for $3.5 million. The home had been in foreclosure for several years.

For years, the Q Street home was known as a house that could be rented out for parties on Airbnb, however that is also what likely lead to its downfall. In 2015, DC attorney general Karl Racine filed suit against owner Douglas Jefferies, claiming that Jefferies had been operating the popular party house in Dupont Circle illegally.
Racine said that police were called to the property more than 100 times between April 2014 and April 2015. Neighbors also called many times to report noise violations, which aren’t included in that tally.
The house was the subject of UrbanTurf’s This Week’s Find in 2011. The abode — lauded in guest reviews as “made for parties” — was once two homes, which were renovated and combined into one by Jefferies over the course of a decade or so. The listing description now says that maintenance on the home has been neglected and that the listing is in need of some TLC.
