Modern Meets Luxury: Inside the Gorgeous Homes at Avec on H Street

Spanning two full city blocks, Avec on H is the latest upscale residential addition to DC’s thriving H Street Corridor.
Located between 8th and 10th Streets NE, Avec offers 419 luxury studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments; a number of the one- and two-bedroom apartment homes also have a den. The homes feature gourmet kitchens with upgraded GE Energy Star stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, glass tile backsplashes and, in select residences, kitchen islands. The luxury apartment homes at Avec have wood laminate flooring throughout, open shelving, spacious Elfa® closets and washers and dryers.
Many of the apartment homes offer large terraces and patios with spectacular views of DC – a desirable feature during these times when private outdoor space is in demand.
Residents enjoy an array of sought-after community and personal amenities at Avec on H. The panoramic rooftop sports a pool, a community garden, three living room areas with grills and a 1,500 square foot dog park. A fitness facility with Peloton bikes and Woodway treadmills, meditation courtyard, co-work café, arcade, clubroom with access to two courtyards and pet spa are among the interior conveniences available to tenants.
A full calendar of building events presents residents with a wide range of social, educational and fun programming – even during the pandemic. This past spring, the property sponsored #AtHomeWithAvec, a series of live virtual events that included a chef-run cooking class, TikTok dances, crafting cocktails and watercolor painting techniques.
Avec was built and is managed by WC Smith, a family-run commercial real estate developer that has operated in Washington since 1968. In keeping with these roots, the development and property management teams behind Avec purposely sought local, DC talent to supply the property’s artwork, working with Marta Staudinger and her firm Latela Curatorial.
The latest addition to the collection is a mural painted on an outside wall by DC artist Luther Wright (see it at Avec’s Instagram page, @AvecOnHapts). Among the other pieces at Avec are an original painting by local artist Tim Doud, professor at American University and a custom-commissioned wood and thread piece by Linny Giffin, a local fabric and installation artist. The second-floor common area showcases work by Reggie Black, Shana Kohnstamm and Amy Hughes Braden, a local artist and graduate of Corcoran College of Art & Design who works out of Red Dirt Studio.
New residents at Avec can take advantage of a one-month free rent promotion on leases signed by October 1. For pricing information, tours (virtual or in-person) and lease applications, visit www.aveconh.com or call 833.715.2386.
