Metropole is Back After a Long, Strange Trip

It is no secret that Logan Circle's Metropole is a project that has faced its fair share of troubles and criticism over the last year and a half. From delayed construction to disgruntled buyers, the luxury condo development was constantly in the limelight and not always because of the upscale finishes and high-end design that it offers.

Things came to a head in April when we learned that the project was taken back by its lenders from the original developer, Metropolis Development. With Metropolis out of the picture, the current ownership group has hired a new development and sales team and is looking to start anew.

The new Metropole team recently finished the outstanding construction issues and is now focusing on typical customer service items and leasing the remaining retail space on the ground floor. McWilliams|Ballard, the new sales team, recently told UrbanTurf that they have made seven sales since taking over, and the building is now approaching 60 percent sold.

We were invited last week to take a look at the units and were impressed by what we saw. While the biggest units (photo of one above) are both drool-inducing and priced above most people's budget (around $1.5 million), there are some great, reasonably-priced units in the building. The most affordable are one-bedrooms that start at $389,900.

The photos below are of a two-bedroom, 2.5-bath condo that is priced at $709,900. The two-level, 1,155-square-foot unit is set up with the living space on the first floor and the bedrooms on the second. There is a sliding wall system to separate the two bedrooms and both rooms have upgraded Elfa closet systems.
