Sports betting could be coming to one of DC's most popular corridors.
The lounge and bar Mythology & Lore/Dirty Water on the H Street Corridor has applied to DC's Alcohol Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) for a substantial change to their current license that would allow the establishment to house sports wagering machines. The bar at 816 H Street NE is specifically looking to place three wagering machines in the third floor bar.

This application is subject to a 45-day protest period and will be considered by the ANC 6A Alcoholic Beverage Licensing Committee on Tuesday before going before the ABRA in October. Mythology & Lore/Dirty Water will also need to apply for a sports betting license in addition to garnering the ABRA approval.
Expect to see more establishments applying for similar changes in DC. The city allows two classes of operators. Class A are large facilities like Capital One Arena or Audi Field. Class B operators can be individuals or groups that want to start a private sports betting facility.
