In our weekly departure from DC-related real estate fare, we may have hit the mother lode: The house from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is for sale, according to The Wall Street Journal.
For those that have seen the movie (who hasn’t), the photo above will certainly remind you of one of the movie’s more dramatic scenes: Cameron’s dad’s vintage Ferrari is hoisted up running in reverse in an effort to wind back the odometer, as Cameron vents about the constant grief that his father has caused him in his life. The frustration reaches a climax, and he slams his foot against the luxury car and it flies through one of the home’s glass windows.

The home, in Highland Park, Illinois, is now on the market for $2.3 million and the window appears to be fixed. The four-bedroom, 5,300 square-foot property sits over a ravine and consists of two “steel-and-glass” buildings built in 1953 and 1973. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide a tree-like feel as the home is set back in the surrounding woods.
If you loved the movie so much that this home just has to be yours, here is the link to the listing agent’s website.
