Google Launches In-Browser Mortgage Calculator

Good news for all you lazy Googlers out there: The search engine giant has rolled out a mortgage calculator that’s accessible directly from Google Search.
To access the calculator, simply Google “mortgage calculator” and it will show up at the top of the search results. The function is similar to the in-browser tools Google has for users who search “scientific calculator,” for example. The calculator may not be available to all users as Google has just started rolling out the application.
Users can also get mortgage calculations in their search results by querying the browser with questions like “How much can I borrow at $300 a month?”
Google’s addition to the wide range of mortgage calculators is a simple one. Its primary advantage is convenience. But it’s much less detailed than, say, Zillow’s mortgage calculator, which gives users advanced options to calculate in property taxes, home insurance, PMI and HOA dues. Google’s calculator is a simple interest rate calculation, helpful for quick estimates but unlikely to be exact.
