One of Georgetown's priciest homes for sale has found a buyer.
The 9,000 square-foot mid-century mansion on R Street NW that was once owned by Hope Diamond-owner Evalyn Walsh McLean went under contract with contingencies earlier this week. The home is listed for $10.8 million with Michael Rankin of TTR Sotheby's International Realty.

Updated by Shinberg Levinas Architects, the five-bedroom home breaks with the typical trappings of its Georgetown neighborhood. The sellers are art patrons who have curated an interesting collection on the grounds. The living room is the centerpiece on the main level, a floor-to-ceiling grid of windows on one side lifting up and opening to the terrace that houses a pool with paper cup-shaped fountain. Next to another floor-to-ceiling window grid on the other side of the living room, a door leads out to a courtyard and the sculpture garden.
The owner's suite spans half the second level with a terrace framing all three sides, its bath on the other side of a partition along with a dressing room with built-ins and a walk-in closet. The two-car garage also has interior access to the ground floor, which includes two bedroom suites.
