An Efficient 454 Square Feet

454 square feet in Kalorama.
Based on the size of a few listings to recently hit the market, micro-units could indeed turn out to be the housing trend of the future in DC. But sometimes just a bit more space is needed to make a homeowner feel comfortable.
A Kalorama studio was listed late Wednesday that measures out at 454 square feet, making it small, but not nearly as tight as this Columbia Heights studio we wrote about last week.

However, micro-unit and small space lovers should take note of the efficient layout. In 454 square feet, there is room for a galley kitchen, a small dining area and even a walk-in closet. The sacrifice comes in the living room/bedroom area where there is room for a full bed. So, the ideal buyer would be someone who is fashion conscious, but doesn’t mind the fact that a Queen or King may not work out. (Of course, a buyer could always sacrifice living room space for a larger sleeping space.)
