"The tool builds off of decades of peer-reviewed research and forecasts how flood risks will change over time due to changes in the environment," the First Street site states.
The report from the First Street Foundation concludes that DC has a smaller proportion of properties at substantial risk of flooding than the rest of the country, with 5.3% at substantial risk today and 5.8% at substantial risk in 2050.
