Each of GDG's projects reflect the company's demonstrated 40-year commitment to excellence.
In 1977, Mokhless Al-Hariri founded The Georgetown Design Group (GDG), a company that became one of the very first design-build firms in the DC region. GDG’s unique approach and exceptionally high standards attracted innumerable clients, from local homeowners and major corporations to public institutions. Forty years later, the firm works globally and has completed hundreds of projects.
While GDG has a variety of specialties, its extensive residential design-build work includes custom houses, challenging historic renovations, turnkey renovations and specialized building designs and assessments.

GDG provided the design and construction management services for the adaptive reuse of over 15 dilapidated DC houses while preserving their main architectural characteristics.
GDG offers full architectural and engineering services and its integrated design-to-construction capabilities include interior design, fabrication of custom millwork and furniture procurement. Every GDG project is custom designed and completed in accordance with each client’s lifestyle, design preferences, budget parameters and targeted schedule.
“We have a singular, extremely meticulous approach to our work, and we are extremely conscientious about our clients’ needs," Mokhless Al-Hariri said. "As a result, many of our clients have become long-term friends."

In addition to a commitment to projects that are both aesthetically coherent and functionally streamlined, GDG takes civic responsibility seriously and is committed to environmental stewardship. The company’s projects are both ecologically conscious and respectful of the natural environment and, during the past fifteen years, GDG has expanded to designing and building eco-friendly custom properties in tropical locations such as Costa Rica.
