While many seniors are still waiting to secure the opportunity to get a Covid vaccine, some senior living operators are bringing the vaccine to their residents.
At communities run by Atria Senior Living and Brightview Senior Living, current and future residents are getting vaccinated in-house, the New York Times reports. While vaccinations are not rolling out simultaneously at all communities in either housing network, both operators have locations in the broader DC region.

For Atria, the first vaccination clinic has already occurred at the Annapolis and Sterling locations in partnership with CVS, and two others are scheduled for the coming weeks. Brightview is also in the midst of vaccination clinics in partnership with Walgreens, and has locations in Bethesda, Grosvenor and Rockville in Maryland, and in Annandale and Great Falls in Virginia.
In both cases, vaccinations are available to current residents and to those who have leased and are moving in. As the Times article notes, senior and assisted living facilities have taken a hit during the pandemic amid anxiety around spread of Covid among the vulnerable senior population, so the opportunity for residents to get vaccinated could cause demand to recover.
