  • March 25th 2010

by Mark Wellborn

In this week’s edition of Best Open Houses, we feature a two-level, three-bedroom in the U Street Corridor, a top-floor two-bedroom in Georgetown and a contemporary four-bedroom in Bethesda.

  • Price: $769,000
  • Bedrooms: Three
  • Bathrooms: 3.5
  • Square Footage: 1,600

Maybe three-bedroom condos in DC are actually not that rare. This two-level, 1,600 square-foot unit a few blocks north of Ben’s Chili Bowl is the second three-bedroom unit that we have featured this week. Its amenities are plentiful: three bedrooms all with own bathrooms, 18-foot ceilings, 120-inch projection screen, numerous in-wall speakers, a private roof deck, and a deeded parking spot. Need we say more? The open house is Sunday, March 28th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

Top-Floor Two-Bedroom Condo in Georgetown

1632 30th Street NW, #10 (map)

  • Price: $549,000
  • Bedrooms: Two
  • Bathrooms: Two
  • Year Built:1940

The properties that usually hit the market in Georgetown are million-dollar trophy houses that mere mortals cannot afford. So we were surprised when we found a two-bedroom unit that was reasonably priced and did not have a huge fee. The condo is on the top floor of a 13-unit complex, has a number of windows, a large living area, a fireplace and a private covered patio. It is not only close to the heart of the neighborhood, but also just a few blocks from Dumbarton Oaks. The open house is Sunday, March 28th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.

Contemporary Four-Bedroom House in Bethesda

4919 Westway Drive, Bethesda, MD (map)

  • Price: $850,000
  • Bedrooms: Four
  • Bathrooms: 3.5
  • Year Built: 1938

This is not the type of home you often see in Bethesda, and the living room looks like it is straight out of South Beach. Built in 1938, the four-bedroom home has been completely renovated with a new kitchen, large master bedroom with a separate den area and a curved living room with numerous windows. There is also a pretty large in-law suite and a private patio. The open house is Sunday, March 28th from 1 to 4pm. For the full listing, click here.
