Amazon Close to Selecting Crystal City For Second Headquarters, Per Report
It appears that it is more than just tea leaves that are pointing towards Amazon choosing Northern Virginia for its second headquarters.
The Washington Post is reporting that Amazon is in advanced talks to put its next headquarters in Crystal City. The newspaper is reporting that the talks have included how quickly the company could move employees to the area and which buildings the company would occupy.

"The company is so close to making its choice that Crystal City’s top real estate developer, JBG Smith, has pulled some of its buildings off the leasing market and officials in the area have discussed how to make an announcement to the public this month, following the midterm elections, according to public and private-sector officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity because Amazon has asked that the selection process remain confidential," The Post reported. "The company may be having similar discussions with other finalists."
If Amazon chooses Northern Virginia, JBG Smith buildings at 1851 S. Bell St. and 1770 Crystal Drive could be properties that the company leases.
The DC area has three jurisdictions vying for the campus, with Northern Virginia, DC and Montgomery County, Maryland all on the shortlist. In the District, NoMa, Reservation 13, the Anacostia Riverfront and off Georgia Avenue near Howard University were put forth as potential sites; in Maryland, the White Flint area appears to be an early favorite.
