A New Residential Project in Georgetown Would Sit Right on the River's Edge

Last year, a pair of Georgetown properties that sit right on the edge of the Potomac River traded hands. Now, new plans offer an idea of how the buildings will be transformed.
The properties at 3524-3526 K Street NW (map), which sit adjacent to the Key Bridge Boathouse and at the mouth of the Capital Crescent Trail, sold last summer. The buyer recently submitted plans to DC's Historic Preservation Office to convert the properties into an 8-unit residential development with one- and two-bedroom apartments.

The buildings are among just a handful of properties that sit along the Potomac River on the south side of K Street NW in Georgetown, which means that, if the project moves forward, the eventual residents will be about as close to the water as anyone in the neighborhood.
