550 Units or Residential/Hotel Combo: The Two Visions For a Mt. Vernon Triangle Parking Lot

There are big plans on the boards for one of the last developable lots in DC's Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood.
ANC 6E commissioner Rachelle Nigro recently shared new development plans for the parking lot at 1001 6th Street NW (map). There are two visions that Steuart Investment Company and BXP have in mind for the lot:

- An approximately 130-foot tall project with upwards of 550 residential units.
- A similarly sized development with 465 apartments and a hotel portion with 270 rooms.
Previously proposed plans for the site were for a 525,000 square-foot trophy office building in partnership with Boston Properties.
The plans will be filed with DC's Board of Zoning Adjustment soon and UrbanTurf will provide more details on the development as we learn them.
