Rendering for planned project at 911 2nd Street NE.
Two years ago, The Fortis Companies presented plans for a 42-unit residential development near the intersection of 2nd and Parker Street NE (map). Construction will soon begin on the project near Union Station, which will be for-sale units, not rentals.
The six-story project at 911 2nd Street NE is a partnership between Fortis and Northridge Capital. In 2013, a Fortis representative told UrbanTurf that the building will be a “modern take on a warehouse design” with an exterior skin consisting of European engineered materials. The building name comes from George Pullman, the engineer who designed the Pullman sleeping car.
The units will be a mix of studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. If the timeline goes according to plan, the project will deliver in about a year.
