With the new Harris Teeter in NoMa now open, we decided to check in with the NoMa BID to review notable developments in 2010 in the northeast DC neighborhood that is being built from the ground up.
Here is a section-by-section look at business openings, office leasings and residential and retail development news that happened in the neighborhood in 2010 or planned for 2011.
Openings
- Potbelly’s, TD Bank, Georgetown Valet and Tynan Coffee & Tea have all opened at the 2.5 million square-foot mixed-use Constitution Square in the past few months. The 50,000 square-foot Harris Teeter on the ground floor of Constitution Square is also now officially open for business.
- A CVS (currently under construction) will open in January at 1200 First Street NE (map).
- In April 2011, a Hilton Garden Inn and Watershed Restaurant, the next eatery from Todd and Ellen Gray of Equinox fame, are scheduled to open at Constitution Square.

Office Leasing Announcements and Move-Ins

- StonebridgeCarras and Walton Street Capital plan to break ground in May of 2011 on the next phase of Constitution Square in NoMa, which will include 200 apartments and 345,000 square feet of commercial space.
