This Week's Find: The Light From a Row House Alternative: Figure 1

Though it’s on the small side, this Mount Pleasant condo has abundant light and a few extra spaces that warrant its position as This Week’s Find.

1812 Ingleside Terrace NW was renovated in 1980 and cut up into 12 units, all of which seem to have different layouts. This 839-square foot one-bedroom plus den is built like a townhouse, with the living areas on the ground floor and stairs leading up to the bedroom and den area.

The extra spaces around the house create a very livable home, despite the small size. A den on the second floor offers an additional living area; if the new owners desire, a wall could turn this into a second bedroom (currently, the space is open to the stairs). The den also leads to a second-story deck with built-in seating and a high wall.

Abundant light also helps differentiate this unit from a dark row house. Windows in the living room and dining room allow light to flow through the entire first floor, and the open plan of the second level means that more sun shines through from above.
